Abstract: The objective of this research was to select coffee progenies obtained from the cross between Mundo Novo and Catuaí, the most productive and adapted to diverse environments cultivars. A total of 12 progenies, in the fourth generation of backcrossing after the second self-backcrossing of the ‘Catuaí’ and ‘Mundo Novo’, developed by EPAMIG Coffee Breeding Program were evaluated. Controls were the cultivars Catuai Vermelho, IAC-99,Rubi MG-1192 and Acaiá Cerrado MG-1474. The experiments were conducted in São Sebastião do Paraiso, Três Pontas, Campos Altos and Capelinha, in Minas Gerais State using the random blocks design, with four replicates and six plants per plot. Evaluated traits were production of grains in sacs of 60 kg of processed coffee/ha and percentage of coreless fruits. Due to variation in number of harvests, data from São Sebastião do Paraíso and Três Pontas were in one analysis, and from Campos Altos and Capelinha in another group, with the same statistical analysis in both. Treatment means were compared by Scott Knott test at 5%. The average productivity showed wide range variation in different places, among progenies demonstrating the interactions between genotypes and environments and also emphasizing the need to set the same experiment in various locals. The progenies H 1190-11-70-2, 1190-11-119-1, 1190-11-70-1 and 1190-11-8-2 presented the highest yields, which should have special attention in the next studies. Except the H 1190-11-70-1 progeny, all others presented coreless fruits percentage similar or lower to the control Acaiá Cerrado MG-1474.
