|Description: ||This research developed and tested the Reineke s (1933) stand density index as a density measurement of the Mimosa scabrella Benth. stands. The used data came from dbh measurements in sampling plots with area ranging from 100 to 400 m2 and ages from 3 to 18 years, installed in native Mimosa scabrella stands of the Curitiba Metropolitan Region, Paraná State, Brazil. Initially, it was used a test for outlier detection, which indicated the convenience to reject out 14 sampling plots, for then proceed the fitting of the Reineke s (1933) model, resulting the regression equation which expresses the stand density index. The average, maximum and minimum stand density index for Mimosa scabrella stands of the Curitiba Metropolitan Region were respectively 202, 541 and 73 trees per hectare. In agreement with the results founded in this research the coefficient porposed by Reineke (1933) have to be stimated by species.|
