Description: This study analyzed the arboreal specie Eriotheca pubescens ( Mart. Former Zucc.) Schoutt & Endler. The main objective was to evaluate whether the seed’s performance, seedling production and field`s plantation, through direct sowing, with and without physical protection to develop the recovery of a degraded area that was explored as a gravel mine, at Água Limpa farm, from UnB (University of Brasilia – Brazil). The specie studied indicated that the seeds have neutral photoblastism and about 5.85% of humidity. The laboratory study indicated vermiculite as the most successfully substratum associated with no shading and temperature condition of 25ºC (77 F). The germination percentage increased after 171 days, indicating a great survival index. There was about 76.5% of survival seedlings that were planted in the field. The specie Eriotheca pubescens has a great potential to be used for restoring degraded areas, especially at the heterogeneous plantation.
