Informações adicionais: The survival rate of six forest tree species: Sterculia pruriens, Vouacapoua americana, Jacaranda copaia, Protium paraense, Pseudopiptadenia suaveolens e Tabebuia serratifolia, considering the distance between the clearing border and forest interior was evaluated in the experimental area of EMBRAPA, at Moju – Pará. Nine gaps were selected, in which strips of 10m X 50m were installed, from the clearing border to the forest interior, in the directions North, South, East and West, subdivided into squared plots of 10m, numbered from 1 to 5. In the plots 1, 3 and 5 squared plots of 5m were installed, where individuals of tree species from natural regeneration were planted. In the center of each gap, a plot of 5m X 5m was installed as control, where the plantation was repeated. It was observed that Sterculia pruriens showed larger survival rate and Vouacapoua americana the lowest, irrespectively of the location. The latter, together with Jacaranda copaia, showed a decrease of survival related to clearing distance. All species showed larger survival in the gap center. The survival average, taking into account all species, was 72,32%.
