Resumo: Catalysts based on a mixture of iron oxides, hematite and maghemite, were synthesized by means of modifications no sol-gel synthesis process for a formation of the coordination compound in a non-aqueous medium and use as Fe0 and Mo0 precursors having as a complexing agent Citric acid. The process of use as a foundation of green chemistry concepts, which do not require large solvent systems, has a high selectivity and productivity. Five different materials were synthesized by substitution percentage of 0%, 1%, 55, 10% and 15%. The materials were characterized by XRD, FTIR and TGA. The materials underwent catalytic tests such as the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide in water and in the presence of the organic blue model of methylene (AM), as well as tests of degradation of this compound in a way to prove its activity and possible application in processes of Type Fenton, where we were able to verify an O2 production, an indirect chemical product with a 15% substitution of about 95% discoloration in only 6 hours of reaction and 100% for 5%, 10% and 15% FeMo materials with 24 Hours of reaction. It is possible to verify that, mainly, the formation of the hematite phase even at low temperatures, showing that a complexation of the metals showed efficient in the stabilization in the oxide formation.
