Resumo: The appropriate cultivar choice is preponderant to provide the maximum potential yield. This study aimed to evaluate the yield and some agronomic attributes of soybean cultivars under two cropping systems (no-tillage and conventional), using wheat as winter crop in succession. The experiment was carried out at University of Lavras, during two agricultural years, at Savanna biome in the south of Minas Gerais State, Brazil. A randomized block design in a split-plot scheme, with three replicates was used. The performances of 15 soybean cultivars in succession to irrigated wheat (sown at winter) were evaluated. The cultivars, independently of the agricultural year, influenced the grain yield, plant height and height of insertion of the first pod. In the first year, the cultivars DM 339 and TMG 103RR were superior to the others in both cropping systems. Also, DM Nobre, Monsoy 6101, Conquista e Pintado presented higher grain yield than others cultivars, in conventional cropping system. In the second year, the Valiosa RR and DM 118 were detached from others, with yields varying from 2,336 to 2,503 kg ha-1 . In the 2007/08 agricultural year, the conventional cropping system provided higher grain yield, nevertheless it was not observed in 2008/09. The results evidence that agroecosystem improve by the long term no-tillage practice providing conditions to increase the soybean grain yield
