Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the spatial distribution of the 17-points of collect samples for the nine variables of Water Quality Index in the micro basin of Carrancas Creek-MG by means of the use of kriging and IDW techniques and considering the impacts on pollutant loads applied to monitoring of water resources. More often, in the kriging, we evaluated: spatial structures of the WQI and three variables (pH, temperature and total phosphorus), the methods of adjustment and selection of models by means of semivariogram function and the potential of kriging by the exponential and Gaussian models. The variables of dissolved oxygen, thermotolerant coliforms, biochemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen, turbidity and total solids were evaluated for the inverse distance weighting (IDW). The option of this method was by generating a pure nugget effect. For each point an ecological evaluation was made by means of a Rapid Assessment Protocol along with a multivariate analysis. The data for the accomplishment of the present study were obtained from two collect samples periods, the laboratory analyzes were done at the Water Quality Laboratory of the Environmental Engineering Nucleus of the Department of Engineering (LAADEG) of the University of Lavras (UFLA). The results obtained demonstrated the degradation of the water body and the urgent need to adopt management mechanisms that to help to mitigate the impacts caused by the pollution of the waters that affect the economic development that comes from the tourist activities of the County.
