Resumo: The teaching and learning process is undergoing changes, mainly in relation to the methodologies used. There is a demand for new, more dialogic and less expository methodologies in which students can participate in the construction of knowledge and not just being deposits of it. There is a law that establishes guidelines and bases of Brazilian education, that determines that the public schools exhibit films of national productions. Faced with this new demand, this proposal aims to build Environmental Education concepts interconnected with Interdisciplinarity, using the film "Sonhos Tropicais - Tropical Dreams" as a pedagogical tool. The work was developed with the members of the Institutional Scholarship Program of Teaching Initiation - PIBID of Biology, of a Federal University, considering two groups: one with graduates who have been in the PIBID for less time and have not yet carried out activities in schools and another with graduates who have been in the program for longer time and have already carried out activities in schools. After watching the movie, these groups’ reflections were elaborated, their first impressions were identified and after discussions and activities of the whole group, we focused on certain aspects present in the film. Based on the analyzes it is possible to identify how the discussion is important and how it can contribute to the critical view of the themes addressed by the film and also to some aspects of the continuous teachers’ training, such as the use of methodologies like cinema in teaching.
