Abstract: This paper aims to analyze how the communicative rationality has been addressed in the literature. To achieve this goal, it was held, at first, a brief theoretical discussion of Communicative Rationality in Jürgen Habermas. Later, we made a bibliometric review relying on the ten most cited articles when dealing with the communicative rationality. Based on the number of articles found in the overall analysis (158 articles) and selection of the most cited, it is observed that these studies are still little amount and that some of these deal with communicative rationality, but did not refer to Habermas, the author of the theory. Even if some of these articles do not reference the author and his theory, those who use it, they employ it with quality and applied to several areas. As a result of bibliometric research and analysis of the articles, communicative action is treated in the theory of Habermas and consists of communication between social actors, through decisions based on looking for a mutual and common understanding developed in several areas, as organizations with administrative bases, public sector organizations, in world politics, planning theories, in health, in matters of public interest, such as crime, everyday conversation, and in environments that allow subject-subject relationship.
