Abstract: The objective of this experiment was study the behavior of Polygonum acuminatum, Echinochloa polystachia, E. pyramidalis, Brachiaria mutica, Melinis minutiflora and Digitaria suazilandensis, in anaerobic stress, observing the growth during the oxygen déficit, plants survival with the return to normal aeration conditions, associating both to changes of alcohol dehydrogenase and lactate dehydrogenase activity and qualitatives and quantitative changesofproteins. A different behavior was observed in protein leveis in species and your organs. In this six species the alcohol dehydrogenase and lactate dehydrogenase was constitutives in the leaves and roots, with a reduction or the maintenance in enzimatic activity during the experimental period for both treatments, occurring no expressive difTerences in roots, in generally way. The specie that presented more efficient strategies was P. acuminatum, mamtainning the anaerobic metabolism in sufficient leveis to growth and pos-anaerobiosis survival. E. polystachia had a degree in protein levei and enzimatic activity with treatment aplication, therefore this specie keep your growth inequivalent level for both treatments, using your reserves with negative reflexus in vigour and post-anoxic survival. There was a metabolic adjust in B. mutica for fermentative pathways, possibilitig the sucess of this specie during the anoxic period and your post-anoxic survival. M. minutiflora and D. suazilandensis had a reduced proteic levei and enzimatic activity in anoxia, and it was no sufficient to the growth and the restablishment of these species in normal conditions of aeration environment. There were changes in protein eletrophoretic pattera of E. polystachia, E. pyramidalis, B. mutica and D. suazilandensis, observed since the first anoxic day bythe bands disappearance and bytheemerging and keep of other ones, confirming theinffluence of anaerobic stress on respiratory metabolism ofthe studied species.
