Determinantes da atividade inovativa de empresas multinacionais do setor de biotecnologia agrícola na área de transgênicos no período de 2000 a 2018

Abstract

The present study had as its main objective evaluating the innovative activity and its evolution in the most important multinational companies of the agricultural biotechnology sector from 2000 to 2018. It was observed that not only the innovative potential of the company, but also the external knowledge acquired from other companies influences the activity of innovation in the sector. For the execution of this study, six major multinational companies of the sector were analyzed. Data was collected from the Espacenet, Annual Report and INPI databases. Variables were analyzed through descriptive statistics as well as through data in panel models. From the results of the present research it was verified that the variables that evaluated specific characteristics of the MNC firm as well as the external knowledge absorbed were confirmed significant. With these results, it is possible to conclude that some characteristics of the firm and the external knowledge absorbed have impacted the increase of the innovative scale of the multinational companies.
