|Abstract:||This paper presents a review on the state-of-the-art of forest growth modeling that takes into account environmental variables. Models tries to express, in a simplified way, the reality. In forestry, models are very useful to predict the future development of the forests and stands, under various scenarios, providing information for decision-making by managers. In general, descriptive forest modeling is based upon independent variables such as: age, site index, and population density. There is a recent trend to include environmental variables in the models in order to provide more reliable growth and yield predictions.|
