|Abstract:||From public policies that guarantee the universal and equitable access to health services, highlighted the importance of access to medicines. With this, the National Drug Policy and pharmaceutical assistance through the program "Here's People's Pharmacy", promoted the establishment and modernization of public and private pharmacy outlets in the state of Minas Gerais. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the growth of number of public and private pharmacies between the years 2007 and 2012 in Minas Gerais. To this, was accessed the database of the Department of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). We used in the search variables such as " microregion", period: "year 2007 to 2012 ", content: "SUS" and "private" , "type of establishment: pharmacy". There was an increase in number of private and public institutions in the State during the evaluated period, on the order of 484 % to 114 % and public facilities to private. Furthermore, it was found that the most densely populated micro-regional a higher number of private pharmacies. There was a higher increase in public establishments in 2009 and 2012 (60 %). While in 2010 there was a smaller increase (1 %) of public pharmacies.|
