Resumo: The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the fungicide treatment and storage temperature on preservation of the physiological quality of rubber tree seeds. The present research was development in the Agriculture Department of the Federal University of Lavras. The experiment was constituted of treated and not treated seeds with the fungicides Tecto 600 (65g 100 kg -1 seeds) and Captan (135g 100kg-1 seeds), which were packed into water-proof packages and stored in two places (cold chamber at 10oC and at room condition ±23oC), for a 210-day period. In different periods of storage, the emergence of seedlings, the rate of seedling emergence speed, the test of first count of seedlings, the electric conductivity and seed water contend was evaluated. The best condition for storage of rubber tree seeds storage is at room temperature without any fungicidal treatment. The fungicidal treatment causes a phytotoxic effect on the seeds. Temperature of 10oC is also harmful to the storage of rubber tree seeds, causing more severe damages to their physiological quality than the fungicidal treatment. The association between the fungicidal treatment and low storage temperature is potentially more harmful to the preservation of seeds than the factors utilized alone.
