Abstract: In 2020, one of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic threw down all legal barriers that separate the classic face-to-face educational system from distance education. In this context, this essay presents a critical analysis of education division into modalities and about the prejudiced behavior in relation to distance education classification manifested by a large part of people. I also present arguments about the proposition that, in the post-Covid19 educational paradigm, the new normal will be education mediated by digital educational resources (blended Learning) and the mistaken categorization of distance education as a modality will become anachronistic, since the application of methods and educational technologies resources available today will give new meaning to the concepts of distance and teaching.
