Abstract: The amount of material extracted from wood depends of the solvent, genotype and interaction. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of Eucalyptus clones and solvent type on the quantification of wood soluble compounds. Ten Eucalyptus clones were used in this study. The wood solubility tests were performed using the following solvents: acetone, cold water, ethanol and extraction sequence in toluene: ethanol (2:1 v/v), ethanol and hot water (sequence). The results showed that the interaction effect (clone x type of solvent) was significant. The wood solubility in extraction sequence was highest average value in all clones, except for clone 10, which presented greater solubility in acetone. However, clone 10 had no significant effect on type of solvent used. The wood solubility in acetone had lowest average value.
