Abstract: This paper presents a comparison of four algorithms for the compensation of the harmonic content and the reactive power through power conditioners. The tested algorithms are: the method of synchronous reference, adaptive filter tuned using the PLL to generate reference signals, the adaptive filter tuned using the Clarke Transformation to generate reference signals and the adaptive filter tuned to frequency estimator. The objective is to demonstrate their ability of tracking the signal variations without the use of synchronization techniques, like a PLL. The algorithms are simulated and implemented in DSP TMS320F2812 belonging to active power filter structures. Several important aspects concerning the computation time, convergence speed and the steady-state error are presented.
