Resumo: (Poaceae in the Bocaina and Carrancas mountain ranges - Minas Gerais) Poaceae is the fourth richest family of species among angiosperms. It includes about 800 genera and 12.000 species across the globe, of which 1.548 species and 210 genera occur in Brazil. Their representatives are found predominantly in country formations, but some groups occur in forested areas. In the Brazilian rock fields, there are records of 55 genera and 184 species of Poaceae, which 29 are endemic. The Alto Rio Grande Highlands, are located in the southern region of the state of Minas Gerais, covering the municipalities of Lavras, Itumirim, Ingaí, Itutinga, Carrancas and Minduri. In these mountains there are rock fields but there is no consistent data regarding the occurrence of Poaceae. The present work was elaborated with the objective of carrying out floristic and taxonomic studies on Poaceae occurring in the rupestrian field areas of the Alto Rio Grande Highlands. Expeditions were carried out from September / 2019 to March / 2020 at various points in the Alto Rio Grande Highlands, together with the data collection of herbariums and online platforms. In total, 52 species and 23 genera of the family were found in the study area, with 5 invasive exotic species. From this floristic survey, an interactive identification key for the listed genera was made available for virtual access and a taxonomic treatment for the genera Paspalum L.
