Abstract: Mammals play many functions in the ecosystem, but several threats affect this group, making clear the need to improve knowledge about habitat and conservation status of species. Therefore, in this study we present a list of non-flying mammals from the Área de Proteção Ambiental Pandeiros and Refúgio Estadual da Vida Silvestre Pandeiros, located in Januária, northern Minas Gerais, Brazil. In all, 33 species of mammals were recorded, including some endangered species, such as Chrysocyon brachyurus, Lycalopex vetulus, Leopardus tigrinus, Leopardus braccatus, Herpailurus yagouaroundi, Puma concolor, Kerodon rupestris and Thylamys velutinus. This study contributed to the increase of knowledge of non-flying mammal richness, including new species and some threatened at state, national and global levels. Therefore, correct strategies aimed at the protection of these Conservation Units are necessary for the preservation of this fauna group.
