Nanociência e Nanotecnologia em foco: reflexões sobre um tema a ser explorado na educação em ciências

Abstract

Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (N&N) has been conquering ample space in the scientific field and is spreading throughoutin the media. It enables the articulation between several areas of knowledge and contributes to new approaches regarding the natural world, implying the development of new technologies that can impact the organization of society. However, it is not a consensual topic, marked by debates in the scientific and social field, besides being often misused in mass media and little explored in Natural SciencesTeaching. Therefore, this articleaims topresent theoretical reflections involving concepts and applications of N&N, controversial aspects,how the media has been approaching this subjetcandaspects that allow their insertion in Basic Education, from a bibliographic survey of articles, theses and dissertations and publications at events in the area of Natural Sciences Teaching.
