Resumo: This work aims to take the Body as a content for the understanding of social relations in and with the environment, seeking to contribute to the Training (Initial and Continuing) of Teachers and Environmental Educators. Thus, we intend to understand if the Body can provide a dialogue between Critical Environmental Education (CEE) and Physical Education (PE), based on the work of art “Os Saltimbancos” by Chico Buarque (1977). For this, we present two articles whose main theoretical-methodological framework is Historical-Dialectical Materialism (HDM). In the first, based on Critical Historical Pedagogy (CHP) and CEE, we carried out a theoric study, seeking to establish an approach between CEE and PE by proposing the Body as a content for understanding social relations in and with the environment. In a literature review of PE works, the dialogue with the EE proved to be shy and, predominantly, with non-critical approaches, with emphasis on dichotomized interactions between subject and nature. In this way, from the perspective of the PHC, we propose the Body as the content of the EE, reconstituting its knowledge and understanding in history and discussing the need to bring humanity and nature closer together, in a dialectical relationship, based on the concepts of Organic and Inorganic Body, in the debate about the work. In the second article, we aim to analyze an educational process, developed in a Study Group in CEE, which took the Body as content for the debate on the relationship between society and environment from “Os Saltimbancos”. We analyze the empirical materials and try to understand the role and possible contributions of the work of art and Art, as elements of Culture, for Education. Subsidized by Bakhtin's Circle theory, we expose the statements raised in the contact with the group as a result of the study of the work: “The Organic and Inorganic Bodies are exploited in the Work of the Capitalist System”; “Body as a limit on access to Culture (Material and Immaterial): the new Fence of Capital”; “Virtualization of the relationship of Human Beings with and in the Environment”. Therefore, we conclude that it is possible to establish a fruitful dialogue between the CEE and PE areas in an educational act that has the Body as content from the work of art "Os Saltimbancos", by enabling an understanding of society's relations in and with the environment, in an attempt to contribute with the interpretation of reality and with the critical formation of citizens, building subsidies for them to think and act in the struggle and defense for another model of society besides Capitalism.
