Resumo: | Identification of erosion risk and soil mass movements areas in urban centers is of paramount importance for the prevention of socio-environmental disasters. In this study, slope data structured in squares in the GeoTiif format of the TOPODATA portal were used, aiming at the identification of risk areas located in the urban perimeter of the municipality Lagoa Dourada, Minas Gerais -Brazil. To perform image processing, conversion to vector files and mapping, QGIS −open source GIS− was used. Location with slopes between 20 and 30% and above 30% were considered, respectively, as “Strong” and “Very Strong” risk of erosion and soil mass movements. It was observed that most of the risk areas are located in the vicinity of the urban perimeter of the municipality, occurring in a significant amount in Cambisol (Inceptisol), even though they present less coverage in area when compared to the Latosol (Oxisol). The high rainfall in early 2020, caused soil mass movements in the municipality, and most of these displacements were in the areas classified as being at risk, which demonstrated that the slope intervals used were adequate and can help in prevent socio-environmental disasters and urban planning. |
