Resumo: This work is based on the results of a research of scientific initiation, whose purpose was to study about the representation of reading present in comic strips aimed at children. In order to do this, we aim to describe and analyze the reading comprehension represented in strips and its effect of meanings in the written production of children, in order to describe different modes of reading action. The study defines as investigative corpus the strips of Anabel, from Lascast Mota, produced between 2008 and 2011, in Recreio Magazine, in which the different narratives constructed as a multimodal text and its possible effects of sense in the written production of students of the 3rd year of elementary education, from a public school, during the year 2018. For his, we chose to carry out field research, with a qualitative focus. To analyze the data, we take as theoretical basis the studies of Goulemot (1996), Manguel (1997), Martins (2003) and Freire (2001) on the definition of reading; of Santaella (2012) and Ramos (2011) on reading of images; de Oliveira (2010), Santos e Silva (2009) on comics and comic strips, finally, by Bakhtin (2003) regarding textual genres. The analysis points to the contribution of the comic strips, as a textual genre, to the process of formation of the reader, besides providing a reflection on the representations of reading in the relations constructed between reader and writing.
