Abstract: The hip dysplasia (HD) is a developmental orthopedic disease with significant prevalence in many breeds. This is a change of great economic interest, which is why the reduction in their incidence has been intensely sought by breeders and show dogs. The aim of this study is to compile and compare the various methods of diagnosis of HD in order to provide the reader a better understanding of the syndrome itself and how to diagnose it effectively and quickly. We reviewed the radiographic techniques with conventional projection of limbs extended, Norberg angle, PennHIP, projection of the dorsal acetabular, stress radiography and ultrasound technique. It was concluded, there is still no agreement about the preferred imaging technique to diagnose hip dysplasia in dogs
