Abstract: The animal tuberculosis is of paramount importance for public health, since it is The animal tuberculosis is of paramount importance for public health , since it is a zoonosis and the animal infected by Mycobacterium sp is a transmitter of disease to humans through their products and by-products and the consumption of buffalo meat is significant in the region Amazon , especially in the State of Amapá, where about 65% of the population of buffaloes is bovídea, this work aimed to study the prevalence of convictions for lesions suggestive of tuberculosis in buffaloes slaughtered in the principal place of slaughter of bovine fueling population Amapá. Consequently, to alert and sensitize society about the importance of the control of animal tuberculosis and consumption of animal products inspected. Data were collected from convictions for lesions suggestive of tuberculosis in carcasses and viscera of animals slaughtered in the slaughterhouse fridge located in the municipality of Santana - AP, subjected to the control SIE 0003, from September 2010 to August 2011. In the study period, there was a prevalence of 2.95 %, for a total of 39,972 buffaloes slaughtered, 1,179 showed lesions compatible with tuberculosis. In 8.56% of cases the lesions exhibited widely and 56.00% of carcasses condemned animals come from the region of higher concentration of buffaloes in the state of Amapá (municipalities Tartarugalzinho, Cutias of Araguari, Macapa and Amapá). From the results obtained it is essential to the implementation of the National Plan for Control and Eradication of Animal Brucellosis and Tuberculosis in the State of Amapá sanitation herds.
