Abstract: The metallic implants, as time went on and increased knowledge of use, become distributed more widely in application to fractures. Even with a large number of fixation methods, locked plates were developed with the aim of improving the contraindications or failures of conventional plates. The locked implant or implant fixed angle has been a threading between the screw head and plate hole, which prevents relaxation system and dispensing of the compression the plate on the bone, improving irrigation in the fracture. However, the rigidity of the system can lead to non-union bone. Although a contemporary setting method, the method has been indications and contraindications as any other, and its knowledge fundamental for their use, leading to the development of scientific work with the theme. The aim of literature review locked plates, is to provide knowledge about the principles of use and biomechanical system, applications and complications.
