Resumo: It is possible to observe aspects related to gender and class in the discourses that circulate in our society, since they are made up of socio-historical aspects and therefore allow various social conflicts to be materialized in them. In this way, it is possible to perceive within them the sociodiscursive imaginaries about black women that circulate in our society. Based on this, the general aim of this research is to demonstrate the social conflicts present in the lives of black women in Brazil and the way in which they are represented in/by society. The specific objectives were: to understand what sociodiscursive imaginaries are and how they can occur in literary discourse; to understand how the process of representation and creation of sociodiscursive imaginaries about black women in Brazil takes place; to analyze which sociodiscursive imaginaries about black women emerge from the literary writing produced by them through the relationships that are established with the socio-historical conditions that mark the lives of these women. To this end, the work Olhos de Azeviche (2021) was selected as the corpus and the methodological approach was qualitative research based on the assumptions of Patrick Charaudeau's Semiolinguistic Theory (2005;2006;2011;2017) and the notion of sociodiscursive imaginaries also developed by the author. In addition to studies from other areas of study that are important for understanding the sociodiscursive imaginaries of black people in Brazil, such as the studies developed by Sueli Carneiro (2020), Lélia Gonzalez (2020), Stuart Hall (2016), Heleieth Saffioti (2012;2015) and Achille Mbembe (2014). Based on the analyses carried out, we identified that the sociodiscursive imaginaries present in the corpus sometimes relate directly to social representations linked to socio-historical conditions marked by racism and sometimes break with these conditions, so that they are not limited to them and bring different forms of representation of black women.
