Resumo: | The work aims to evaluate the effect of using drill cuttings as an alternative raw material on the physical, mechanical, thermal, acoustic, microstructural and durability properties of composite materials. The study characterized two different cuttings from oil well drilling with a view to using them as raw materials in the production of fiber cement and concrete tiles. The fiber cement was produced with a control formulation of 30% ground agricultural limestone, 65% Portland cement (CPV-ARI) and 5% cellulosic pulp. To assist in the rheology of the mixture, 1.0% carboxylic polyester additive (ADVA) and 1.0% hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) were used, both in relation to the mass of the cement. Agricultural limestone was replaced by 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% by mass by drill cuttings. The samples obtained were evaluated after 28 days of curing and after 25 and 50 cycles of accelerated aging, regarding physical properties (density, water absorption and porosity), mechanical properties and static bending (modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity, limit of proportionality and toughness), thermal conductivity, acoustic and microstructural insulation. The concrete tiles were produced with the control treatment and the replacement of 25, 50, 75 and 100% of the stone dust with drill cuttings, the concrete tiles were shaped by the mechanical process of simultaneous pressing and extrusion. The control mix was composed of 21.95% CPV-ARI cement, 65.85% sand and 12.20% stone dust. After manufacturing, the tiles underwent 28 days of curing and subsequently the physical properties (classification of the tiles, dry weight of the samples, water absorption and porosity), mechanical properties (resistance to bending rupture load), thermal, acoustic and microstructural studies, in which treatments were evaluated before and after accelerated aging. Waste centrifuge gravel and reservoir gravel can be used as fine aggregate in the production of fiber cement, allowing for correct disposal and the development of new products. There was also an improvement in the physical, mechanical and acoustic properties of extruded fiber cement. The present study contributed to the evaluation and understanding of the use of different percentages of gravel linked to the production of concrete tiles, in which waste centrifuge gravel and reservoir gravel can also be used in the production of concrete tiles, taking into account the marketing standards. |
