| Abstract: | An experiment conducted at the State University of North Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, aimed to evaluate the performance of a seeder-fertilizer with animal traction in the planting of maize (Zea mays). The tests were done on a Cambisol Tb distrophyc soil in a randomized block design, using three speeds (0.9 km h- 1 , 2.2 km h-1 and 2.9 km h-1) and three repetitions for treatment. In the experiment, the slippage of the planter wheel, sowing depth, seed spacing, number of seeds per meter, and rate of germination after seed dosage mechanism were evaluated. According to the statistical analysis, for each characteristic evaluated, it was found significant effect of the displacement speed only on the number of seeds distributed per meter and germination of seeds after seed dosage mechanism of the planter. |
