| Resumo: | In addition to investment in new technologies and modernization of the industrial park, the competitiveness of Brazilian products is linked to increased productivity. Shewhart Control Charts, the main Statistical Process Control tool (SPC), fit into this context regarding the control of the key features of products and processes in real time, ensuring desired quality levels, required by the market. A thorough study of the application of control charts in the automotive devices manufacturing was conducted. It was concluded that the evaluated quality characteristics and processes studied were out of control due to statistical interpretations and incorrect use of statistical techniques, suggesting the need for periodic training of employees and the SPC philosophy, especially in non-randomness patterns. |
