Abstract

The field of the cultural education in Brazil can contemplate the study of the consumers of educational services from the perspective of new organizational structures. Thus, we intend to answer the following research problem: "Do the Brazilian cultural traits influence the pursuit of private education? Are the changes occurred between the public and private sectors leading consumers of educational services to seek more and more calls franchises of the educational system? ". To this end, a survey was conducted by applying a structured questionnaire, with the parents / guardians of students in an elementary school convening a network of education in the southeast of Brazil. Using multivariate analysis, we could confirm that the shifts occurred between the public and private sectors are leading consumers of educational services to seek more franchises in the education system. Also, it was clear that decision makers choose private schools for their children have access to, besides quality in education, an specialized service, guided by the tradition, reputation and the school family relationship, and also additional classes. They believe that because it is a franchise of schools, this has several advantages.
