Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate models for estimate the height-diameter relationship (H x DBH) and height of dominant and codominant trees (HDC x Age) of Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis. The data used were obtained from sample trees from temporary and permanent plots of Caxuana Company, located in Nova Ponte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. We tested four models to estimate the height-diameter relationship and four models for estimate the height of dominant and codominant trees. Selecting the best model was based on the relative standard error [Syx (%)], Akaike information criterion (AIC) and Bayesian information criterion (BIC). According to the analysis, the Logistic model showed better results compared to the models tested, for height-diameter relationship and height growth of dominant and codominant trees. The accuracy of the models evaluated increased with the addition of covariates in the height-diameter relationship.
