Three experimental trials were accomplished with the objective of evaluating the effects of the nutritional levels of total sulfur-containing aminoacids, digestible lysine and threonine on performance, internal and external quality and yield in the processing of eggs of white layers at peak production. 1080 layers of the Hy-Line - W36 strain were utilized, 360 in each trial, which were given, in the period of 25 to 37 weeks of age, five experimental diets formulated according to the NRC (1994) with levels of 0.578; 0.636; 0.694; 0.752 and 0.810% of digestible methionine + cystine (Meth + Cys) (trial 1), 0.683; 0.751; 0.819; 0.887 and 0.955% of digestible lysine (Lys) (trial 2) and 0.547; 0.602; 0.657; 0.712 and 0.767% of digestible threonine (Thre) (trial 3), these being isocaloric, isophosphoric and isocalcic. A control diet formulated according to the recommendations by Rostagno et al (2005) was also utilized. The completely randomized design with five replicates and 12 birds per experimental unit and four evaluation periods with 21 days each was also utilized. In trial 1, there was a quadratic effect (p<0.01) of the levels of digestible Meth + Cys on egg production (%/bird/day), feed conversion (g/g), egg mass (g/bird/day) and viable eggs (%/bird/days) with best results in birds consuming 729; 751; 801 and 730 mg of digestible Meth + Cys/day, respectively. The birds´ feed consumption and weight gain presented growing linear effect (p<0.01) with increase in the levels of sulfur-containing aminoacids. There was no effect (p>0.05) of the diets utilized on the total solids content in the yolk, albumen, CP albumen and Haugh unit. For the percentage of yolk and ether extract, there was a growing linear effect (p<0.01) of the levels, a decreasing linear effect (p<0.01) occurring in the percentage of shell. In eggs stored for 7 days, there was a growing linear effect of the levels on the percentage of yolk (p<0.05) and decreasing linear effect on percentages of shell (p<0.01), Haugh unit (p<0.01) and specific weight of the eggs (p<0.0). In trials 2 and 3, there was no effect of the levels of digestible aminoacids upon egg yield, feed consumption, weight gain, egg mass and viable eggs, the control treatment presenting values superior to the other treatments. In trial 3, there was no effect of the levels of threonine on the egg weight and feed conversion. There was an interaction of the levels of Lys and periods for egg weight and feed conversion. For the characteristics of yield and quality of eggs, there were no effects of the levels of Lys and Thre on the percentage of yolk, albumen, albumen CP, shell, total solids in the albumen and yolk. For shell percentage, Haugh unit and yolk CP (trials 2 and 3), the control treatment presented values inferior to the other levels utilized and for ether extract in the yolk, the control treatment presented a superior value. In eggs stored for 7 days, there was no effect of the levels on the percentage of yolk, albumen and shell and specific weight (trials 2 and 3). There was an interaction between the levels of Lys and periods for Haugh unit of stored eggs. The consumption of either 752 mg of digestible Meth + Cys or 864 mg of total Meth + Cys/bird/day is recommended for better production, internal and external quality and yield in the processing, the results obtained in the trials with digestible lysine and threonine in diets formulated according to the NRC (1994) presenting poorer results as compared with the diet formulated according to Rostagno et al (2005) due to the low content of sulfur-containing aminoacids present in them.pt_BR
