Abstract: This study aims to analyze the political-pedagogical projects of state schools in Campo Belo/MG, aiming to identify the concepts of environmental education present in these documents. In addition, this research aims to identify the obstacles that exist for the implementation of environmental education in schools and to offer theoretical and didactic support for implementing environmental education practices in schools from a critical and emancipatory perspective. Through critical environmental education that seeks to change thinking and not only practical activities, such as ecological trails, visits to protected areas or habitat recovery projects, participants are directly exposed to the reality of ecosystems and the need for their preservation. In addition, critical environmental education also aims to encourage behavior change in relation to natural resources and unsustainable practices. Critical Environmental Education presents a worldview in which the social is not separated from the environmental and individual choices are not dissociated from history and social norms. This investigation will be carried out through a documentary analysis in the political pedagogical plans of schools in Campo Belo MG, with the objective of identifying how environmental education appears within this important guiding document of schools in this municipality, and also the obstacles that exist for its implementation in the school, and analyzing, based on the scientific literature in the area, the conceptions and practices identified, offering theoretical and didactic subsidies within the pedagogical plans to guide the practice of critical school Environmental Education.
