Abstract: This study evaluated the influence of soil use and management in physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of a Red Oxisol. The systems evaluated were continuous no-tillage, no-tillage with mechanical intervention, pastures and native Cerrado. Soil samples were collected at a depth of 0 to 10 cm. The experimental design was completely randomized with six replicates. The correction and fertilization of the areas under no-tillage with intervention and no-tillage continuous improved the soil chemical properties. The area under pasture maintained the soil aggregation, but those with no-tillage with intervention and no-tillage continuous raised some aggregates smaller than 2 mm and reduced the GMD. The area with continuous no-tillage had higher compression. The soil under pasture and no-tillage with intervention kept the stock of total organic carbon, while that under no-tillage continuous raised their values. Nevertheless, all tested managements have reduced concentrations of microbial biomass carbon and the metabolic quotient increased, compared to the native Cerrado. There were two groups for cropping systems in this soil, the pasture remained close to the native Cerrado, while the two forms of no-till had greater similarities between them
