Abstract: The present article aims to present the experienced changes in a hospital, with the adoption of management practices and professionalization. More specifically, to present the innovative management practices adopted in the strategic, operational and managerial levels and to demonstrate the achieved results through professional management. The work is characterized as a case study and data collection was conducted through participant observation, interview and visit to the company website. The data were analyzed by content analysis. After analyzing the data, it was found that the structural, organizational and managerial changes implemented promoted a significant increase in the numbers and indicators of the organization (finacial and operacional). Three dynamic capabilities were identified and related to implemented organizational routines and processes. Moreover, it was realized that learning was a catalytic element in the change process. The conclusion reached is that the professionalization of the organization's management of hospitals is necessary and urgent, facing the new context of provision of health services. Also, the availability of knowledge and insight into the importance of hospital's organizations management, from administrators, and especially, skills related to learning corroborates the organizational changes.
