Áreas verdes da cidade de Lavras-MG: caracterização, usos e necessidades

Abstract

Due to the development and growth of the cities, the urban scenery is undergoing various modifications, such as the disappearance and changes in the urban green áreas. With the objective to quantify and evaluate the situations of the green áreas of the city ofLavras, a qualitative and quantitative inventory was made. The quantitative part ofthe inventory objectified the determination ofthe number of the city squares, their localizations and respective total áreas. This study was realized using orthophotos and visiting the áreas. The qualitative inventory served to analyze ali the public green áreas according to a serie of quantitative itens previously determined and put in an fíeld form. It was also determined at this moment use ofthe Lavras urban green áreas and the part ofthe city with this lack by means of a research with the population. By means of a standardized questionnary with direct and indirect questions applied to 600 families. It was concluded that the green áreas index ofthe city ofLavras/MG is 0,34 m2/habitant, knowing that the ideal calculated área for the city was 21,24 m2/habitant. The distribution of these áreas throughout the urban área is not uniformed, being the north and the center parts the most privileged área, and the south and the suburb regions presenting priority needs of new green áreas creation. As far as infra-structure is concemed, we noted mainly a lack of equipments related to children recreation. A general maintenance of the city squares has a concept going from regularto bad.
