Abstract: The traditional model of education often promotes the teaching-learning process decontextualized and discouraging, since it places the student as a mere recipient of very specific knowledge and without much relevance to your social life. In order to overcome some bottlenecks faced by the Brazilian basic education, discipline Methodology in Education Sciences inserted in the curriculum of the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) come in search of supply of these demands working in initial teacher education in order to exercise the link between theory and practice. This paper seeks to report the construction of an educational practice that uses research and contextualization in science education in order to build the concept of homeostasis.
