Diálogos da extensão universitária: desafios e potencialidades nas práticas ambientais escolares do município de Lavras - MG

Abstract

The present paper reports the experience of a research project with interface in extension, conducted in the public municipal school José Luis de Mesquita, located in Lavras city, Minas Gerais state, Brazil. Environmental education is a continuous process that aims to train reflective, conscious and active citizens about environmental issues. It uses methods and techniques that encourage participation and discussion, always focusing on the community. Both, the environmental education and university extension, have great importance in encouraging sustainable development, so that individuals cease to be only spectators and come to be active players in this process of social and environmental transformation. In this context, entomology presents itself like a great tool for supporting the work, for dealing with beings fully dynamic, highly relevant in ecological processes and present in everyday, being beneficial or not. The proposal is to provide grants for educators to use the insects as teaching tools.
