Abstract: Faced with the need to analyze a cooperative management through a rationality that shows a practice of cooperative principles and not that takes into account the rationality directed at the companies of commodification, presents an analysis of the analysis of the type of rationality predominant in the management of Cooperatives. For this, we look for characteristics of the cooperative organization, for which an accurate analysis of the management of the organization can be developed. (1999), based on his book "The logic of collective action" and communicative rationality through Jürgen Habermas (2002), based on his theory and work "Theory of Communicative Action." In order to analyze a predominant rationality in the management of cooperatives, it performs a bibliometric analysis of the articles found in the "Web of Science" database in order to understand the field to be analyzed, as well as the authors, works, countries and words The most relevant keys in the analyzed field, a knowledge "cooperative and rationality". After an analysis of the general field, we search for articles also in Scielo and Spell, and by means of bases, we select the empirical articles that related "cooperative and rationality" and we start for an examination these by means of theoretical categories developed on the basis of the understanding From the works of Olson and Habermas. Faced with this categorical classification, we observe that an instrumental rationality is more predominant in studies on cooperatives and that, although at times, the studies approach relations directed to a communicative action among the members, an unidentified communicative rationality, the fact, In None of the articles. Based on this reality, we seek to argue that a communicative rationality can be used as a new form of action in the cooperatives, being possible through the cooperative principles, since we are related to the other assumptions by Habermas in "Theory of Communicative Action ". Given this evidence, we propose that new studies be conducted using a communicative rationality as an approach in cooperative studies for what is analysable.
