| Abstract: | This study examined an environmental management system through the practical aspects of an environmental audit. The objective was to assess the environmental management system of a Brazilian company in the marble and granite, its compliance with relevant legislation and the system complies with the criteria set out in an environmental audit. The survey of information focused on the information contained in the environmental control plan, environmental monitoring report on the company and also of questionnaires addressing management control back to the environmental management system. The result shows that the environmental management system the company is still a beginner, corroborating with other studies already conducted in the country. Moreover, one can observe that the managerial control of the company is moving forward, highlighting his concern with issues of legal compliance and procedures for operation and production. |
