Abstract: This paper attempts to answer that theoretical relations can be established between concepts of formal organizational structure with the increasing demands housed mainly by the presence of knowledge and learning within organizations and discuss the evolution of studies in organizational structure, showing understanding of the changes occurred, the notoriety that the agency won within organizational boundaries and how much knowledge and learning are present in the structural aspects and the setting of contemporary organizations. From the basic structural shapes that have been discussed theoretically, we can see four settings that have been highlighted in search of organizations for the care of their goals and their conceptions or theories: the knowledge organizations, the organizations in the modern bureaucratic organizations and innovative organizations. It was noted how knowledge and learning may hold key relationships with the formal aspects and structural organization, it is more structured and structuring as appropriate.
