Abstract: | The chelonians of fresh water are included among the groups of animals more and more explored, supplying besides their products and by-products as the meat, eggs, fat, and innards among others. The study had as objective evaluate the influence of diet in productive parameters and quality of scorpion mud turtle (Kinosternon scorpioides) eggs, created in captivity, submitted to different feeding management, fed with commercial ration for fish and two different humid diets (mix). The eggs used in the experiment were originating from of 15 males and 48 females distribute in three treatments, which are belonging of the group of animals of the Scientific Producer place of the Project Bio-fauna / ISARH / UFRA. Such animals were fed to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, in the proportion of 1% PV / day, between 11:00h and 14:00h. The treatments consisted of different diets, being T1 = 70% ration for fish (22%PB) + 30% mix 1 (bovine innards and fish); T2 = 100% ration for fish (22%PB); T3 = 70% ration for fish (22%PB) + 30% mix 2 (bovine innards, fish and shrimp). The collections were made in the period of April to October of 2008, when the eggs were identified, weighed, measured and frozen for subsequent laboratory analyses. The statistical analysis was made through statistical program SAEG 9.0 (UFV, 2007), where it was made variance analysis and the averages by clutches were compared by the Tukey´s test (P<0,05). The treatment 3 shows the better laying performance, after those treatments 1 and 2, respectively. There was not significant difference among the treatments in the variables: number of eggs for clutch, weight and length of the eggs, as for percentage of rude protein, ashes, humidity, calcium and match of the egg white + yolk portion among the treatments. However, significant (P<0,05) difference was detected among the averages of width of the eggs by treatment, being the treatment 3 the one of medium adult proceeded by the treatments 1 and 2. The eggs of the animals previously selected and fed with ration and mix 2 presented larger tenor of ethereal extract and energy that the eggs of the other treatments. In the analyses of the shell the animals fed with ration and mix 1 obtained average significantly bigger in the thickness of the shell, than the other treatments. The tested diets didn't modify the tenor of the fatty acids present in the eggs. However, the eggs of the animals only fed with ration presented larger tenor of saturated fatty acids. In agreement with the conditions of accomplishment of the experiment it could be observed that the different feeding managements produce differences in laying performance and shell thickness of analyzed eggs, being the animals fed humid diets of better performance. |
