Abstract: This work was performed with the objective of monitoring the hydrological dynamics of two springs at Lavrinha (MG) creek watershed, which have distinct vegetation: one covered with native forest (Atlantic Forest) and the other with pasture. In order to analyse the functioning of these water recharge, the specific water yields were measured during the dry period; the soil and topographic characteristics were surveyed; the spatial variability of soil density, hydraulic conductivity, draining porosity and organic matter, which are associated to recharge conditions. The dynamics of values of physical and physical-hydrological values were coherent with the dynamics of spring specific yield. The land use of springs recharge areas influenced the value and the seasonal dynamics of their specific yield. For studies involving water dynamics in this region (Mantiqueira Mountains), aside from the land use, it is necessary to consider the physiographical conditions associated to soil and topographic conditions.
