Abstract: Leaves may exhibit a combination of important morpho-anatomical characteristics under various conditions. Foliar physiognomy can be considered a valuable tool for anatomical, physiological and ecological studies. In this way, the hypothesis of the work is that Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemão (Anacardiaceae) alters its morphoananatomy to the logo of an edaphic / climatic gradient. The objective of this study was to compare and evaluate the morphology of M. urundeuva at different locations along an edaphic / climatic gradient. The sampling area of the plant material comprises three vegetative domains: Caatinga, Cerrado and Atlântico. In view of this heterogeneity, the greatest variation of ecological characteristics of this region was sought and the occurrence and distribution of M. urundeuva along this gradient was observed through previous studies of community structure. Therefore, the species was selected for analysis. The data were submitted to analysis of variance, and the means were compared by the Tukey Test at 95% confidence level (p <0.05). In order to evaluate the effects of the edaphic and climatic variables on the anatomical variables, Generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) were used. According to the results, it can be concluded that there is difference in the morphology of the leaflets of the individuals of M. urundeuva. The edaphic and climatic variables showed influence on the morphoanatomic characteristics. However, the edaphic variables were more associated to the structural variation of the leaflet.
