Abstract: It is not from today that the academy seeks, in the most diverse areas, to contribute with the advancement of tools that can provide organizations with ways to establish more comfortable relationships regarding their managerial strategies. The moment a new form or organizational strategy of conducting or perceiving a market is constructed and externalized, almost immediately, a portion of the players seeks to find points of conversion between theory and practice. A recent example as a way of pointing out a new perspective is brought by Kim & Mauborgne (2005) with the concept of the Blue Ocean Strategy. After 10 years of publication of the work of Kim & Mauborgne (2005), it is not yet known how the publications on the theme are characterized and how they impact the academic world. In this sense, the objective of this work was to carry out a bibliometric study about knowledge management in small and medium enterprises. Web of Science was used as a database between 2004 and 2015. It was observed a great heterogeneity in the publications, in the thematic area and the indicators of frequency of words, besides a certain tendency to citations of the theme for the next years.
