Abstract: The aim of this paper was to analyze the relationship between strategic dimensions aided by ERP systems and competitive rivalry, in small and medium enterprises. A survey for small and medium enterprise’s managers was conducted, by which evaluate customers and consumers, suppliers, market, organizational effectiveness, and inter-organizational efficiency dimensions and its relationships with competitive rivalry. Analysis was performed by partial least squares method (PLS), by validating measurement and structural models and then analysis of path coefficients. The outcomes showed a positive relationship among all evaluated strategic dimensions, with high relation to costumers and consumers, and organizational effectiveness dimensions, and light relation to market dimension. It is observed that ERP systems, in small and medium enterprises, contribute more to endogenous and closer dimensions to organization than exogenous, supporting the need organizational maturity’s thesis to achieve strategic outcomes by use of information technology.
