Abstract: | The monodominant forests of Eremanthus erythropappus, known as Candeais, are dispersed in neotropical montane regions of southeastern and northeastern Brazil, forming ecotoneous areas among other high altitude phytophysiognomies, not having information from their faunal communities, and how these communities vary between these phytophysiognomies, and how well the species that can use these habitats. I examined the bird community of three preserved monodominant forests of E. erythropappus and three managed forests, and compared it with two other coexisting phytophysiomies, cloud forests and natural Grasslands/Fields, of an ecotonal region between two domains Cerrado and Atlantic Forest, in the Chapada das Perdizes, in southeastern Brazil. The structures of the bird communities of these phytophysiognomies were singular, with the avifauna of the E. erythropappus forests preserved sharing with the species in the other vegetations, and the anthropic (managed) ones closer to the community of the fields, but even with almost no elements were their communities motivated by balanced variation, suggesting that the abundance of the species recorded varies along these phytophysiognomies. Together, species associated with E. erythropappus forests for 50% of the total species, in contrast to the remaining 50% associated with the nebular forests and montane fields, if shown, the community of candeias forest preserved as an ecotonal community, since in their community there are elements that are also present in the avifauna of the other two phytophysiognomies sampled, and the managed with a bird fauna closer to the field areas. |
