Abstract: In this work we synthesized materials that were prepared by modifications of the Pechini Method: using as precursors Fe0 and Ga0, having as complexing agent acetic acid, glycerol as polyalcohol, applying a cooling instead of heating as proposed by Pechini Cooling increases the strength of acid by generating greater interaction with metals. The work used as a basis the concepts of green chemistry, not generating solid or liquid residue at the end of the synthesis process. Three materials were synthesized: FeO, 1% FeGa and 5% FeGa, doped with 1% and 5% Ga respectively. The characterizations were performed by the techniques of XRD, FTIR, SEM, DSC. To evaluate the catalytic activity, the materials underwent catalytic tests such as hydrogen peroxide decomposition, degradation test and adsorption of the methylene blue (AM) model compound at different concentrations (25mg L-1 and 50mg L-1). XRD analysis showed the formation of two phases in the synthesis process: magnetite and hematite.
