Abstract: How to promote gender diversity in organizations based on male principles? How to recognize discrimination in an originally patriarchal society, like the Brazilian one, where the image of the father as the patriarch and chief of the family is the source of many other relationships? Our purpose with this article is not to present solutions to these issues. That would be too simplistic and not necessarily would it manage to succeed. Our intent is to instigate, to make people reflect upon the early uptake by the female contingent in organizations and its current development, and how the relations between men and women are going forward. Therefore, we present concepts and theoretical perspectives on gender, data reporting, cases and research results that can broaden the discussion about the work performed by women and Management.
